Mount Mary University, Wisconsin’s oldest Catholic university for women, is seeking an individual to contribute to the realization of our mission through the role of a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish beginning in fall 2015.
Duties include:
Teaching undergraduate courses in Spanish language, culture, linguistics and/or literature; advising undergraduate and post baccalaureate students; assisting the department in programmatic activities; serving on College committees; and demonstrating professional involvement in the field by conducting relevant research. Leadership potential and the ability to take on administrative responsibilities required
Qualifications include:
Earned or pending terminal degree (Ph.D, Ed.D or equivalent) in Spanish, Spanish Education or related field; native or near-native fluency in Spanish; experience teaching at the college level; strong commitment to teaching excellence; competence in technology as a tool in education is highly desirable. Ability to teach linguistics, Latin American culture/literature, Spanish for Heritage Speakers, and/or an additional language at the elementary level is also highly desirable. Ability to prepare future Spanish teachers by teaching the instructional methods course, supervising student teachers and serving as the liaison to the Education department is desirable.
