Job Description
We’re Ready to Grow and you can help!  ACTS Housing is creating a new, ground-floor opportunity for a confident person who speaks Spanish with a passion for excellence.

How would you like to join a small, enthusiastic team that works to turn renters into homeowners, houses into homes, and blocks into communities?  Where your passion and persistence will be appreciated and rewarded?  Where there is plenty of opportunity for personal and career growth and advancement?

ACTS Housing is ready to grow, and we need your help to fulfill our vision of a 60% owner occupancy rate in each of our three focus neighborhoods.  We’re looking for a special person who loves to help people, has a strong ability to relate to others, and has well-developed and practical experience in building, home rehab, and rehab management.

Your role will involve developing scopes of work for home rehab projects, identifying and vetting contractors, identifying rehab resources, determining feasibility for projects, managing home rehab projects, and providing an exceptional level of customer care and home rehab/maintenance education for our homebuyers and owners.  You also coordinate various volunteer rehab experiences, and help us create the systems we need to grow and consistently meet or exceed expectations.

People describe you as friendly, trustworthy, optimistic, conscientious, and enthusiastic – with a healthy attitude for fun!  You see yourself as a self-starter, mature and persistent, with a methodical approach to work.  You are highly organized and consistently make sure nothing falls through the cracks.  A team player, you’re goal-orientated, work effectively with little oversight, and enjoy an invigorating, fast-pace environment. Your leadership skills are apparent as you direct and drive our team and buyers/owners through proactive problem solving and plenty of thinking “outside the box”.

You love negotiating bids for projects to get the best price and quality.  You have experience working in a development/construction-related non-profit or business - you may have even owned one!  It would excite you to help educate inner-city renters on ways to rehab and reclaim abandoned homes for homeownership.  You would enjoy inspecting a vacant building in the winter that was dilapidated, difficult to enter, and located in the central city – you might even say you love to start by thoroughly inspecting the basement!  Where some see a property set for demolition, you see an opportunity for the neighboring renter to become an owner.

You are excited to take advantage of this opportunity to learn and grow in ways you never anticipated.

You are proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.  You have the ability to use a computer to manage construction, loan escrows, and account reimbursements, produce feasibility studies, and communicate with vendors and partners.

This is a full-time position.  Our office is located at 2414 W. Vliet Street.  Our complete compensation package offers significant incentives for the results you achieve - as well as those we achieve as a team.
