Mount Mary University seeks a full-time Web Marketing Specialist to report to the Director of Marketing and Creative Services. This non-exempt position is responsible for the day-to-day content creation needed for various digital platforms including the University website, HTML email and social media outlets. This position will adhere to the University’s standards and brand guidelines.
Mount Mary is looking for a creative individual with talents in writing, design and digital marketing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Write, design and cultivate compelling content that tells the stories of Mount Mary students, alumnae and community crafted for specific audiences and digital media
Provide daily maintenance and ongoing development of the University website and social media platforms
Manage and develop content of top level website pages, especially the homepage and department landing pages.
Create and execute social media strategy for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.
Coordinate and organize complex projects including working with various Mount Mary departments (Enrollment Services, Advancement, Athletics, Women’s Leadership Institute, etc.) and vendors.
Work with form building software (Adobe Forms Central) to create simple, responsive forms that are user friendly and follow best practices in data collection
Monitor user-generated content for appropriateness and consistency
Partner with key stakeholders to understand their needs and help improve the effectiveness and usability of their content
Provide leadership and training to student workers to assist in social media or web-related tasks
Assist in documentation and education of website design standards
Create website analytics reports, providing insight on interpreting results
Assist with events and activities and/or perform other duties or projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, IT or related field
Excellent writing skills with a passion for social media
Strong customer service orientation and ability to train users of all abilities
Experience using content management systems and HTML
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop Familiarity with Google Analytics and other data reporting software
Knowledge of website development best practices including SEO techniques and complying with Section 508 accessibility guidelines
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work in a fast-paced online environment
Excellent communication skills, and ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
