Job Description
Full-time position available January 1, 2015 in the Office of Marketing and Creative Services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Mount Mary University seeks a full-time Web Content Manager to report to the Director of Marketing and Creative Services. This non-exempt position is responsible for the day-to-day operation and monitoring of the University website and marketing content within the University’s intranet, My Mount Mary. This position will proactively cultivate and update website content while also prioritizing incoming requests for permission, training, content updates, and new functionality. The candidate will need to ensure the visual design, navigation, and contents are engaging and follow website best practices. This position will adhere to the University’s standards and brand guidelines.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Write, design and cultivate compelling content that tells the stories of Mount Mary students, alumnae and community crafted for the website and specific audiences
  • Provide daily maintenance and ongoing development of the site
  • Manage the top level website pages, especially the homepage content and image sliders, department landing pages, etc.
  • Coordinate and organize complex projects including working with various Mount Mary departments (Enrollment Services, Advancement, Athletics, Women’s Leadership Institute, etc.) and vendors.
  • Work with form building software (Adobe Forms Central) to create simple, responsive forms that are user friendly and follow best practices in data collection
  • Maintain a sound site navigation (information architecture)
  • Monitor user-generated content for appropriateness
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand their needs and help improve the effectiveness and usability of their websites
  • Oversee the assignment of work for student workers
  • Assist in social media strategies as needed
  • Assist in documentation and education of website design standards
  • Participate in troubleshooting and quality assurance testing for various websites, applications, and tools
  • Provide advanced technical/training support for the intranet and the web CMS
  • Create website analytics reports, providing insight on interpreting results
  • Research and recommend techniques and technologies for advancing the website
  • Attend weekly staff meetings; provide weekly/monthly report of activities. Attend and participate in program and event planning sessions, budget planning, maintenance of historical records, procedural updates. Provide leadership and training to work study students and student assistants.
  • Manage email requests, flagging tasks and routing requests to appropriate staff
  • Assist with events and activities and/or perform other duties or projects as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Experience using content management systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced online environment
  • Experience in developing websites and web applications
  • Excellent communication skills, organization skills, and ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Experience communicating with technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple complex projects
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to train users of all abilities
  • Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and responsive web design
  • Familiarity with OU Campus (OmniUpdate), Google Analytics and Jenzabar JICS preferred
  • Knowledge of website development best practices including SEO techniques and complying with Section 508 accessibility guidelines
