Comfort Keepers Essential Functions and Duties of ALL Job Descriptions
• Provide for a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients, in their homes, by assisting with light housekeeping including laundry.
• Assist clients with nutritional needs by providing meal planning, preparation, grocery shopping, and kitchen clean-up.
• Incidental transportation in your car or the client’s for errands, shopping, medical appointments and
client recreational activities.
• Remind client to take self-administered medications.
• Observe and report changes in client’s mental, physical, or emotional condition or home situation as
directed by policy in a timely manner.
• Assist client with activities of daily living (ADL’s) by providing approved personal care activities: bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, and/or ambulation. (Not for Companion/Homemaker)
• Complete required documentation of services delivered and submit according to policy.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all client information.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED.
• CNA or training as a Personal Care Worker, Home Health Aide or similar position for 6 months of full time or 12 months of part time experience providing comparable work, preferably in a home setting.
• Previous experience working with seniors or disabled preferred.
• Must be bondable and meet or exceed minimum qualifications for Background Checks:
• Criminal Background Investigation,
• Motor Vehicle Driving Record,
• Professional and Personal Reference Checks
• Must be reliable and punctual.
• Must complete Comfort Keepers training and orientation.
• Must be genuinely concerned about helping people and have high moral standards of honesty and integrity.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and document services provided.
• Ability to speak clearly so others can understand.
• Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA privacy regulations.
Position Physical Demands:
• Requires moderate physical exertion on a regular and recurring basis, driving, assisting clients in transfer activities, ambulation, and light housekeeping. Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, see, reach, kneel, and crouch.
• Lifting only up to 25 pounds is permitted and may be required.
