Since 1970, Outpost Natural Foods Cooperative has been happily serving customers as the largest provider of natural and organic foods in Southeastern Wisconsin. Outpost is governed by the co-operative principles of sustainability, transparency, promoting a healthy community and creating a culture of learning and growth for our employees. Outpost operates a Market Cafe at Aurora Sinai Hospital at 945 N. 12th St, a neighborhood store in the Innovation and Wellness Commons development at 17th and North Avenue.; and four successful, beautifully designed and eco-friendly locations at 100 East Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, 7000 West State Street, Wauwatosa, and at 2826 South Kinnickinnic Avenue, Milwaukee, and 7590 W. Mequon Rd. in Mequon, WI. All stores offer a full line of delicious, high quality, all natural and organic groceries, conventional produce, naturally raised meats and fresh seafood, beer & wine, prepared deli foods and sandwiches, made to order entrees at The Fork In The Road Café, as well as a complete selection of personal care items and gifts, cards and more. Store samplings, workshops and classes and outside events are just some of the ways Outpost connects with the community. Outpost Natural Foods was recognized as a Top Workplace by the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel. The organization now employs @500 people, operates a state-of-the-art production kitchen/bakery and is recognized as the 4th largest natural foods cooperative in the country. A hallmark of Outpost is it publishes an award-winning food and wellness journal (Graze).
