Volunteers of America, Wisconsin is a member of a stable and long standing national organization which has earned a 4-star rating (the highest rating possible) from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent evaluator of charities.
Two national magazines, Smart Money (published by The Wall Street Journal) and Worth, (the highly respected national personal-finance magazine), rated Volunteers of America as one of the nation’s best and most efficient charities. Worth, included Volunteers of America among its 100 best charities in the December 2002 issue. The magazine, in an article headlined “To Give Well, Give Wisely” said it “set out to identify those charities that are doing the best job, dollar for dollar”.
Over the past 85 years, Volunteers of America, Wisconsin has been providing services to low income clients in Greater Milwaukee, Appleton and Kenosha. We provide low-income housing, residential services for the frail elderly and persons with disabilities. We also counsel and support low income birth mothers faced with the crisis of an unplanned pregnancy.
