Frequently Asked Questions:

Why should I work with Career Options, rather than other staffing companies?

Career Options is small, tailored staffing firm dedicated to finding the "right match" between our clients and candidates. Our staffing specialists genuinely care about your goals, dreams and career path! We work hard to earn your trust and we stay with you during the entire process and offer resources to help you with your search. We are truly committed to making a difference in our community and are excited to share our opportunities with you! Approximately 93% of our positions are temp/hire and direct hire!

Does Career Options charge a fee to candidates?
Candidates are NEVER charged any fees; they are paid by each employer.

Many staffing companies take walk in appointments – why does Career Options choose not to do this?
Career Options realizes that your time is valuable. Before an interview is scheduled, we screen resumes and applications to be sure that we feel there is a good fit for current or future openings. Our clients are very selective and they ask us to screen our candidates carefully. If we do decide to interview, feel proud that you have made it through our professional screening process. If we do pass on interviewing you, we will certainly keep your information on file for one year.

How many hours do I need to work through Career Options before I am eligible to be hired on by the employer?
460 hours are required for temp-to-hire positions. (Companies do have the option of hiring you on before 460 hours or extending the hours if they wish. Please note however, that we cannot guarantee that you will be hired on as a permanent employee.)

I am seeking a more professional position, do I still need to test?
In most cases, the answer is yes. Why? Because even for professional positions, most clients are seeking candidates with good software skills. Software or skill tests help to determine if the candidate will need additional training before starting a position.

I scored poorly on the Word and Excel tests, what are my options for placement?
We have wonderful news for you! Career Options offers FREE software tutorials for a variety of different programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, QuickBooks, and more.) We can email those tutorials to you or you can work on them at Career Options and then retest when you are finished. This is a great way to make yourself more marketable
