The Wisconsin Department of Revenue's mission is to administer state and local taxes in a fair, equitable and efficient manner while advocating sound tax and fiscal policies and providing property tax relief. The Department is responsible for the administration and enforcement of all state tax, alcohol beverage, and tobacco laws. Other responsibilities include: estimating state revenues, forecasting state economic activity, help formulate tax policy, and administer the Wisconsin Lottery. We also determine equalized value of taxable property, assess manufacturing property, administer local financial assistance programs and assists local government in their property assessments and financial management.
