Our History

In 1992, a fledgling architectural firm first known as Aldrian Guszkowski was formed. After Chuck Aldrian’s retirement in 1998 and the firm’s move to Wauwatosa, it was re-branded as AG Architecture, reflecting the names of Steve Alexander and Gene Guszkowski.

Gene and Steve first began working together in 1968 and together have grown as both architects and businessmen. The roots of the firm date back to the 1960’s when Gene and Steve worked for Jack Shepherd, Joe Legan, Jerry Walkowski and later Chuck Aldrian on the design of numerous skilled nursing facilities and innovative multi-family apartments. A foothold into the world of retirement communities was developed in 1969 when they were called to create a campus-like environment that combined apartments, social activity areas, and skilled nursing beds.

Now, more than forty years later, this continuous relationship with the senior living industry forms the basis for AG Architecture’s unique niche in the marketplace. Today, AG Architecture’s name is recognized nationwide as a leader in the design of senior living environments.

AG Architecture embraces the future with a growing team of passionate leaders. Along with Gene and Steve–John Cronin, Cindy Lofy, Tony Luciano, Joe Silvers and Tracey Schnick–are committed to honoring the history of the firm, guiding the next generation of professionals and building a sense of community.

AG Architecture is a full service architectural engineering firm that continues a more than 40-year commitment to the design of innovative senior living environments.
