Since that time, Larry Schotz has acquired numerous patents to his name. Some of his accomplishments include the first phase-lock-loop digitally tuned receiver, the Schotz noise reduction circuit, and the cassette adapter for portable CD players. Audio applications such as the wireless headset, speakers, and microphones were among the many initial products designed by LS Research. LSR broadened its RF design services with the availability of the ISM frequency bands in the early 1990’s. This dramatically expanded design work with FHSS and DSSS systems in both the 900MHz and 2.4GHz radio bands. Continued expansion included alignment with major wireless semiconductor manufacturers to develop reference designs and customer support applications. As demand for wireless solutions increased, LS Research started to offer additional solutions as part of the product portfolio. Those products and services included licensing of RF designs, contract manufacturing services, and industrial design. In 1996 Larry Schotz founded a second company, LS Compliance which has since been integrated into LS Research. Through ISO 17025 accreditation and recognition by the FC, Industry Canada, and the European Commission, LS Research provides EMC testing and Radio certification services for both domestic and international regulatory requirements. Today LS Research is a leader in wireless product development, certification and manufacturing.
