Mission

It is the mission of TBI Residential and Community Services to provide comprehensive individualized services which promote and facilitate independence in community living settings. TBI Residential and Community Services is dedicated to making life all it can be.

Residential Services
TBI provides long term, transitional, and respite care services. Each of TBI's residential homes is designed for accessibility, convenience and comfort. Each resident is provided with the opportunity to be involved in the planning of social events and activities of daily living. Residents are provided with a wide range of community activity opportunities including trips to Valleyfair, the Science Museum of Minnesota, Minnesota Twins games, and other local attractions like Gooseberry, Tettagooche, and Jay Cooke State Parks, Split Rock Lighthouse, Vista Fleet Cruises, and simple walks on the Duluth Lakewalk.

Vocational Rehabilitation

TBI Residential & Community Services offers many vocational opportunities through community placement and on our own work crews. Some of the jobs that have been made available to our clients are lawn service, snow removal, commercial cleaning and other service related employment opportunities. TBI continues to explore expansion of its vocational rehabilitation services in an effort to provide each client with the ability to pursue meaningful employment if desired.

Educational Rehabilitation

In addition to its foster home services TBI also operates a Day Program facility that provides focused educational rehabilitation. In addition to the opportunity to socialize with their peers, participants receive rehabilitation in the core areas of anger management, health awareness, orientation, cognitive and vocational rehabilitation, budgeting skills and independent living skills. In addition to these core areas participants are offered expanded educational opportunities including classes on writing skills, scrapbooking, the Spanish language, acting, geography, music appreciation, dance, horticulture, and even philosophy!

Behavioral and Nursing Services
