UMOS is a private, non-profit corporation established in 1965 to advocate for and provide services to Hispanic migrant and seasonal farmworkers in Wisconsin. Today, UMOS’ mission is to provide programs and services which improve the employment, education, health, and housing opportunities of under-served populations. Currently UMOS operates programs to assist low-income individuals and families as they gain economic self-sufficiency. In 2003, more than $83 million in grant funds from federal, state, and local sources support these programs.

Programs and services provided by UMOS include a variety of housing, workforce development, domestic violence, health promotion and disease prevention, education and training, and other programs. In addition to these programs, UMOS sponsors a number of cultural and community events in Wisconsin. The UMOS corporate offices are located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. UMOS programs operate throughout the central and southern United States. UMOS program offices are located in Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Kansas, Missouri, and Texas.
