Zink the Zebra Foundation, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to helping ALL children learn to treat others with understanding, respect, compassion and acceptance. Zink conveys the powerful message that all people, regardless of interests, education, cultural and economic background, level of ability, and/or physical differences are more alike than they are different. Those very differences are what make us special.

As adults, we want to ensure that our children develop relationships with people who are supportive and accepting, characteristics that we all seek in our lives. We want to help provide the tools and problem solving skills to our children that will result in the elimination of pain and social ridicule that may be experienced in a child's world. Bullying actions, both verbal and physical, can affect children well into adulthood and can result in a difficulty in developing relationships with others. If left unchallenged or unanswered, these problems will continue to grow each year between children, both in the classroom and in our neighborhoods.

The story of Zink the Zebra is not about Kelly or about cancer. Zink's lovable character provides a role model as we help our children grow to be compassionate, respectful, and accepting individuals. The story is about knowing your own feelings and considering those of others.
