    Railroad Products Division

AAA Sales & Engineering, Inc. is devoted to making classification yard work easier, safer and more efficient.

AAA offers a complete line of railroad classification yard retarders and related products--all of them built with a total commitment to quality and a thorough understanding of our customers' needs.

    Our Place In The Industry:
While many opportunities in railroading have presented themselves to AAA, we are proud to have maintained our identity and core business area within the modern classification yard. We believe it is better to excel in one area than to be mediocre in many.

    Our Charter:
Our charter is to provide products which will increase asset utilization at yards: increase efficiency and reduce costs; and provide tools to the railroad to increase overall customer service.

    Our Products:
Classification yards have come a long way from the days when "car riders" braked the cars by hand. At the core of today's modern classification yard are AAA's electro-pneumatic car retarders which have made the yards safer and more efficient.

AAA's designs ensure that the braking force applied to the car wheels remains substantially constant as the car passes through and is not affected by the number or width of the wheels. High concentrations of force on car wheels, which might cause light cars to be lifted, are avoided. Guide rails provide an added precaution against derailment.

High grade materials are used throughout construction and the various components are readily accessible for easy inspection and replacement, Since the retarder is made up by a series of interchangeable units, only a few parts need to be kept on hand for maintenance.

The car retarders can be arranged for either a single or double rail and can be made to any desired length. The retarder can even be installed on a curve.
