K2 Sourcing’s story begins in corporate America. Our founder was working as a global procurement manager for a well known public corporation. To help our resource-constrained team, we tested reverse auction software. While we found the time and cost savings impressive, we also saw a great deal of room for improvement. The reverse auction software required further automation, additional sourcing tools were required, and improved strategic sourcing support was needed.

As a result, K2 Sourcing (no relationship to the sports company) was founded in 2003 just outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We took 8 months to design and test an improved reverse auction solution. After the first few bids, we knew we had it right.
