You can make a difference, as Milwaukee Succeeds is seeking an Early Childhood Education Data Analyst! This position is responsible for collaborating with colleagues and partners in the use of data to guide the partnership’s strategic priorities and translating data into community action. This role leads the partnership’s data infrastructure and is responsible for deploying the partnership’s overall data capacity towards its goal:  transforming systems to deliver better, more equitable results for Milwaukee’s children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identifies relevant data sources and research to support the partnership’s strategic priorities.
  • Assesses the quality of data and organizes data into usable formats for analysis.
  • Develops and maintains databases to support data collection for the partnership’s strategic priorities.
  • Provides data support for the annual evaluation of partnership impact using the StriveTogether Civic Infrastructure Assessment.
  • Develops and maintains key dashboards to support the strategic priorities of the partnership.
  • Creates metrics, graphs and tables for reports, presentations and publications, such as organization infographics, reports and other content for public dissemination.
  • Performs data maintenance and data quality assurance tasks to ensure accuracy and standardization.
  • Supports quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation projects with various tasks (e.g. compare rates across two populations, develop survey questions).
  • Supports the development of survey and data collection tools, including programming, testing, distributing surveys/forms, as well as data entry and data cleaning work.
  • Partners with colleagues to support research, evaluation and data work related to the partnership’s strategic priorities.
  • Engages in StriveTogether State and National Networks, applying learning to local work.
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of, and commitment to, anti-racism and how this role contributes to commitments vis-à-vis racial equity and systemic changes on racial justice. Assesses potential racial biases in existing data and/or any reporting systems.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, statistics, social sciences or related field required.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in program evaluation, research and/or data analysis/reporting required.
  • Previous experience with both quantitative and qualitative research practices.
  • Previous experience developing or using tools and techniques to visualize data in easy-to-understand formats (e.g. data dashboards).
  • Ability to support research projects with demonstrated results.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to manage conflict, mediate, build trust and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and partners.
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and inclusion.
  • Strong analytic skills, including mathematics and basic statistics.
  • Strong attention to detail, and organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong effective written and verbal communication.

We recognize that at this moment, during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is a uniquely difficult time and we aim to be as flexible and supportive as possible in both the recruitment for and onboarding of this position. Some staff may be eligible to work a hybrid work schedule (i.e. work part of their regular schedule remotely). However, all staff must work the majority of their time in the GMF office.
