You can make a difference, as we are seeking a Senior Accountant! The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing financial accounting tasks, which includes preparing journal entries and financial statements, reconciling investment transactions, as well as supporting the payroll function. The incumbent reviews the work of others and supports financial and analytical projects as requested.
Purpose & Objectives
The Senior Accountant performs financial accounting tasks including preparing journal entries, processing payroll, reconciling accounts, providing financial analysis to the Finance department and other departments within the organization, and serving as a backup for multiple functions. The incumbent partners with departments to provide a variety of financial services, which include producing reports, compiling and submitting survey data, completing special projects as requested.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Reviews deposits weekly.
Processes Accounts Payable weekly.
Processes credit card gifts weekly.
Processes biweekly payroll.
Reconciles checking and other accounts monthly.
Processes administrative fees monthly.
Provides financial reporting for other departments as requested.
Compiles financial data, reports and correspondence for the annual financial audit.
Completes industry related surveys.
Performs annual 1099 tax reporting.
Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required.
Non-Essential Duties
Provides back up for financial statements preparation.
Serves as a backup for contracts review.
Surveys peer foundations on issues of significance to GMF (e.g. financial practices, policies) as requested.
Performs other duties (or functions) as assigned.

We recognize that at this moment, during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is a uniquely difficult time and we aim to be as flexible and supportive as possible in both the recruitment for and onboarding of this position. Some staff may be eligible to work a hybrid work schedule (i.e. work part of their regular schedule remotely). However, all staff are asked to work the majority of their time from the GMF office.
Compensation: $69,600 Annually
