POSITION SUMMARY:
The experienced horizontal CNC Milling Machinist will produce a variety of high precision, high quality components required for our machine tools and automation products.  This work, conducted in a bright, temperature-controlled environment, utilizes updated equipment and the most up-to-date technology. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
•    Plans and completes setups from detailed manufacturing drawings
•    Sets up and operates 5-axis and horizontal CNC milling equipment in a short run, close tolerance (.0005”) environment
•    Able to read and interpret CAM posted G and M code and modify as needed on a variety of machine controls
•    Selects appropriate tooling based on materials and tolerances
•    Operates machines to produce high precision, low volume parts, calculating proper SFM and feeds.
•    Safely operates overhead cranes and large part handling (up to 16,000#)
•    Inspect work to insure proper specifications and very close tolerances are met
•    Communicates with others in department to coordinate downstream operations of specialized parts
•    Remains current with manufacturing technologies available to improve productivity (tooling, workholding, programming, workflows, etc.)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
•    2-5 years’ experience setup and operation of horizontal machining centers, boring bars, 5-axis machining centers and/or double column machining centers in a job shop/manufacturing environment; minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
•    Demonstrated high productivity through the use of good planning and technology
•    Attention to detail and a desire to maintain high standards of workmanship
•    Working knowledge of Okuma, Toshiba or Fanuc controls and machine operation required
•    Possesses own quality inspection and hand tools
•    Innovative and forward thinking with a continuous improvement mindset
•    Applicant should be mechanically inclined, have good problem solving skills, be able to work independently, be self-motivated and possess the ability to do highly accurate work that requires concentration and physical effort
•    Flexibility - willingness to operate other equipment, perform work outside job duties when asked and work overtime hours when required
•    The ability to communicate ideas, work in an organized manner in a team environment and a respectful attitude are critical for the success of any candidate in this role

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:    
•    Regularly lifts up to 20 pounds unassisted.  Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds unassisted.  Occasional use of overhead cranes for lifts greater than 50 pounds.
•    Regularly stands for 8 hours
•    Regularly bends, stoops, reaches, climbs and moves.
•    Regularly exerts up to 10 pounds of force and frequently exerts up to 25 pounds of force to move objects.
•    Work environment is bright and temperature controlled.
•    The nature of the work involves contact with various metals and oils.
